Hello from the BRX family!

Hi there! Welcome to the BRX family website. BRX is a cattle brand in our family, which stands for our last name - Brooks. We live in a small town in southern Colorado at the base of the beautiful Spanish Peaks mountains. Our family spends a generous amount of time outdoors: hiking, biking, trail riding, fishing, and of course walking our dogs. Which brings me to the point of this blog: our fur babies! It all started when we brought Cash home.

He was a previously owned American cocker spaniel that we absolutely fell in love with. When we brought him home he was believed to be around 6 years old. He fell in love with our children and became what we referred to as the 'nanny dog'. That's one of the first reasons I fell in love with the breed! Besides having such big loveable eyes, soft long ears, wiggly behinds, and velvety muzzles they are so full of love and have a special place just for little ones. Cash instantly became a beloved part of our family. When thoughts arose about a second dog we searched until we found one we believed would be as wonderful a friend as Cash was. Millie was brought into our home with love and excitement from everyone.

She stole our hearts and even taught Cash some new tricks. Millie would often go to work with my husband, who was a carpenter at that time, and would return home ready to play with the children. Never have I met another dog who was so desperate to play fetch every second of every day. Over that summer we took the kids and the dogs to the lake often. Cash and Millie spent most of their time swimming and playing 'water fetch'. I spent most of my time bathing Millie from the weeks adventures to attend the local kennel club classes. We worked in conformation and obedience and I soon found an eye for what a good cocker spaniel should look like. Flash forward a few months later and the minute I saw a picture of Benji as a puppy I couldn't say no; I had to have him! Benji completed our pack as the loveable

goofball who just wants treats and praise. Each one so unique and incredibly sweet. Over the past 6 years we have been blessed with three children, three dogs leading to a full and beautiful life! I now spend my time homesteading, homeschooling, training, and grooming. What I love most about my busy life is the fact that I can bring my dogs anywhere I go. Going on a hike? I'll bring Millie. Going to soccer practice? I'll take Benji. Kids want to go to the park? Make sure to grab Cash's leash! Lake day? Make room because they're all coming!

The American Cocker spaniel is a great family dog because they can be so diverse that way. Big enough to go on an adventure and small enough to take anywhere. They are just as happy to watch TV with you all day as they are to take a walk downtown to meet up with friends. With a big love for this special breed we introduce to you BRX Country Cockers LLC.
